St. Paddy’s 8k Run to Move to Raleigh Beer Garden

Beginning in 2016, the St. Paddy’s 8K Run formerly hosted by Tir Na Nog, will be relocated to the Raleigh Beer Garden. The Raleigh Beer Garden will be partnering with the MS Society to donate a portion of the proceeds to this organization. Last year over 3,000 racers participated in the event and raised over $50,000.

This year the race will again attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest kilt run, with a short 1K run/walk prior to the 8K.

Date of the event: March 19, 2016
Neighborhoods impacted: Glenwood South, Cameron Park
Start / Finish location: W. Johnson Street, between Glenwood Ave and West Street – view the route map
Start time: The kilt run will start at 9am following by the 8K at 10am
Road Closures: From 10:30am to 12:00pm (noon)
Post event activities: Live music / Celtic festival at the outdoor space behind the Beer Garden
