Christensen back in the running for James Beard Foundation award

Thew News & Observer’s Andrea Weigl is that Poole’s Diner/Chuck’s/Beasley’s/Fox’s Liquor Bar, etc. owner Ashley Christensen is a finalist for a second year in a row for the James Beard Foundation “Best Chef Southeast” award.

Raleigh chef Ashley Christensen, who owns Poole’s Diner and several more downtown restaurants, is one of five nominees for Best Chef Southeast. This is the second year that Christensen has been a finalist. Her competition includes Kathy Cary of Lilly’s Bistro in Louisville, Ky; Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia in Louisville, Ky.; Tandy Wilson of City House in Nashville, Tenn.; and Steven Satterfield of Miller Union in Atlanta.
